About Friedrich

Friedrich Opitz is a doctoral scholarship holder at the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes) and is currently a visiting scholar at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Friedrich is writing his dissertation at the University of Leipzig, comparing structural change in East Germany and the Midwest of the USA. He also is a lecturer in International Relations at TU Dresden and an Associate Fellow at the German Council on Foreign Relations. Friedrich heads the Climate, Labour and Innovation working group in the Industrial Heartlands Fellowship.
